WELL YEAH RITMO

Manchester-based instrumental quartet Well Yeah have dropped a new single in the form of ‘Ritmo’. It’s an eclectic track that blends psychedelic South American timbres with a jangly, almost Britpop influence. It opens with crystal clear guitar melodies that interact with laid-back drum and bass loops before wandering towards an energetic groove, backed by a summery organ and thick textured synth sounds. In their own words, the band describe the track as follows: “It blends tropical Latin American elements with the sunnier side of Manchester. Think of some classic Gloria Estefan bongos put through a wah-wah pedal, layered on top of Happy Mondays' funkiest keyboard parts then add a bit of Los Detellos bright guitar licks and bouncy bass lines. It culminates in a horn laden crescendo that could easily soundtrack an action film car chase scene.” Make sure to check out the B-side ‘Magic’. -Dan Peeke.
